Franck Muller Chronology

1981 At 23 years old Franck Muller completes his watch making studies at Ecole d’Horlogerie in Geneva. He immediately secures work performing master restorations and building his own creations on the side.

1983 Muller begins creating watches bearing his name and incorporating multiple complications.

1987 Muller presents for the very first time his tonneau-shaped Cintrée Curvex at the International Show in Italy.

1992 Master watchmaker Muller enters a partnership and establishes a workshop in Genthod, outside of Geneva.

1993 The Franck Muller brand unveils a multi complex timepiece with split seconds chronograph minute repeater, perpetual calendar and internal temperature indicator billed as a world premiere.

1994 The company launches the Caliber 94 with minute repeater with a striking mechanism indicator, perpetual calendar, monthly retrograde equation of time, patented tourbillon, retrograde second hand and internal temperature indicator.

1995 The company opens Watchland – a watch making château on an estate overlooking Lake Geneva in Genthod. This is the future site of additional watch making buildings.

1996 The Master Banker with three time zones on a single automatic movement is launched.

1997 The double faced Conquistador is unveiled with multiple complications.

1998 The Master City with jumping hour and second time zone with a choice of 14 cities is released.

1999 The Caliber 99 with Double Mystery dial and the Vegas are introduced.

2000 The Stunning Long Island double retro-seconds watch is released.

2001 Franck Muller unveils the Caliber 2001, A Whirlwind of Light, housing the Master Imperial Tourbillon, developed by Franck Muller’s watch makers. The company launches into jewellery with a variety of stunning diamond collections. Watchland is open to the public.

2002 Franck Muller launches the Revolution a watch with a tourbillon cage that rotates and lifts closer to the surface of the watch crystal for better viewing. This watch holds several patents and required three years in the research and development stages.

2003 The company unveils the one of a kind Toubillon Revolution 2 with dual Flyback readout with the tourbillon on two axes.
