Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Zenith movement 16520. Presented with a 40mm diameter steel case which is water resistant to 100 metres. Automatic chronometer movement. Featuring a black dial and the rare ‘Patrizzi’ sub dials, named after the famed Italian auctioneer Osvaldo Patrizzi. Patrizzi, the author of a book detailing the story of the Rolex Daytona, was auctioning a number of Daytona’s in 2005 when he noticed an abnormality in the usually Silver sub dials. Due to the use of the natural varnish Zapon in the manufacture, the sub dials of a number of Daytona’s began to turn a brownish colour. The progressive nature of the colour change make each watch a unique and much sought after timepiece. Steel tachymeter bezel. Steel Oyster lock bracelet. Box and papers dated August 1996 and Rolex service papers dated November 2005. Our reference A1650.
