The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch has a rich history that dates back to the 1940s when IWC Schaffhausen produced the first Big Pilot’s Watch 52 T.S.C. (Tirette Seconde Centrale). These watches were designed for the German Luftwaffe pilots during World War II and featured large, easily readable dials, precision movements, and a distinctive oversized crown for gloved hands.

In 2002, IWC reimagined the Big Pilot’s Watch with the introduction of the Big Pilot’s Watch Ref. 5002, which became an instant icon. It featured a 46mm stainless steel case, a power reserve indicator, and a 7-day movement.
