The Rolex Deepsea “James Cameron” Edition is a tribute to filmmaker and explorer James Cameron’s historic 2012 solo dive to the Mariana Trench’s Challenger Deep. Rolex developed the experimental Deepsea Challenge watch for this mission, attached to Cameron’s submersible. It withstood depths of nearly 11,000 meters, proving Rolex’s engineering excellence.

Inspired by this feat, Rolex released the Deepsea Sea-Dweller Ref. 116660 in 2014, nicknamed the “James Cameron.” followed by the Ref: 126660 and 136660. It features a gradient dial transitioning from blue to black, symbolizing the ocean’s depths, with the “DEEPSEA” logo in green, mirroring Cameron’s submersible. Engineered for extreme diving, it offers water resistance up to 3,900 meters, a helium escape valve, and the robust Oyster case.

Equipped with the Caliber 3135 movement, the watch ensures reliability and precision. The “James Cameron” Deepsea celebrates Rolex’s legacy in deep-sea exploration and stands as a testament to human ambition and technological innovation.
