The Chopard Mille Miglia collection was introduced in 1988, inspired by the legendary Mille Miglia car race, a thousand-mile endurance competition held annually in Italy from 1927 to 1957. Co-president of Chopard, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, a passionate car enthusiast, wanted to merge his love for classic automobiles with horology. As a result, Chopard became the official timekeeper of the Mille Miglia race, and the watch collection was born.
