Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Date Q3001420. 18-carat yellow gold rectangular reversible case measuring 29 mm x 46 mm, featuring the iconic Art Deco fluted design. Water resistant up to 30 metres. Manually-wound Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 875 movement with twin barrels, providing an 8-day power reserve. Silver guilloché dial with central small seconds sub-dial and large double-aperture date display at 7 o’clock. Applied Arabic numerals and blued steel sword-shaped hands. Power reserve indicator located on the reverse side of the case. Sapphire crystal glass on both dials. Fitted to a brown alligator leather strap with an 18-carat rose gold folding clasp. Comes with an additional Tan leather strap. Box and papers dated December 2008. Service Papers dated January 2026 providing a 24 month guarantee with Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Created in 1931 for British polo players in India, the Reverso solved a practical problem: protecting fragile watch crystals during matches. Swiss businessman César de Trey challenged Jaeger-LeCoultre to design a reversible case, and engineer René-Alfred Chauvot patented the ingenious sliding-and-flip mechanism. Its clean Art Deco lines became iconic, and the blank metal caseback invited engraving and personalisation. After fading post-war, the Reverso was revived in the 1980s and evolved into complications like Duoface, Tourbillon and Tribute models. Today, it remains one of horology’s most recognisable rectangular watches and a cornerstone of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s heritage.
