Patek Philippe Nautilus Chronograph 5980R-001. 18ct rose gold, 40.5mm case which is water resistant up to 120 metres. Automatic, Patek Philippe Calibre CH 28-520 C flyback chronograph movement with an approximately 55-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire crystal exhibition case back. Brown horizontally embossed dial with rose gold applied baton hour markers and luminous hands. Flyback chronograph with central chronograph seconds hand, 60-minute and 12-hour monocounter at 6 o’clock and date window at 3 o’clock. Fitted to a grey Rubber B strap with the original 18ct rose gold Nautilus double-folding clasp. Additional Patek Philippe brown crocodile leather strap, brown calfskin strap and denim and leather strap. Box and Papers dated September 2018 with Patek Philippe service dated 2024.

The Patek Philippe Nautilus is one of the most iconic luxury sports watches ever created, with its heritage dating back to 1976 and the famous porthole-inspired design conceived by legendary watch designer Gérald Genta. The reference 5980 holds an especially important place within this history, introduced in 2006 to celebrate the Nautilus’ 30th anniversary as the first chronograph in the history of the collection. It was also powered by Patek Philippe’s first in-house self-winding chronograph calibre, the CH 28-520 C, featuring a sophisticated flyback chronograph with column wheel and vertical clutch. The 5980R-001 followed in 2010, bringing the chronograph into an 18ct rose gold Nautilus case paired with a rich brown dial and, significantly, becoming the first Nautilus chronograph presented on a leather strap. Its combination of precious-metal construction, distinctive horizontally embossed dial, unusual concentric chronograph monocounter and technically accomplished movement makes the 5980R-001 an important chapter in the evolution of the Nautilus.
